What to Look for in a Community

Location

This is an obvious one, but it can’t be overlooked. Do you have school-aged children (or do you plan to have kids soon) and if so, how important is being in an area with good school districts? Is being close to downtown and a short drive away from restaurants and shopping the priority, or would you trade convenience and fun nights out for a peaceful countryside retreat? Fortunately, Ole South’s community locations, which range from lively Smyrna to tranquil Pleasant View to those nestled on the shores of Old Hickory Lake, can accommodate all preferences and lifestyles. 

Safety

If you love your morning jogs or like to let your kids go for a walk at night, it’s important to feel safe in your community. Many of Ole South’s communities offer sidewalks and well-lit streets to ensure that you can trust your and your kids’ safety. Take into account other aspects of the community that will impact safety as well—for instance, a stream running throughout your neighborhood may look lovely, but flood danger can quickly arise during heavy rains. Be sure not to select a homesite on top of a steep hill that might ice up during the winter, especially if you or someone in your household has a disability. 

Amenities
