Planning your Fourth of July

June 26, 2023

Independence Day celebrations are a big deal in and around Nashville. With so many options to choose from, it can feel overwhelming to decide which festivity to attend. The following events are some of our favorite Fourth of July celebrations that are taking place to ring in the upcoming holiday.

17th Annual Music City Hot Chicken Festival

It’s barely a Nashville event if there’s no hot chicken served, right? The Music City Hot Chicken Festival unites members of the local community and visitors to celebrate Independence Day with the infamous Nashville dish - Hot Chicken. This FREE event will occur in East Park on July 4th starting at 10:30 a.m. Attendees will be able to enjoy Hot Chicken from Nashville's best establishments, cold beer from Yazoo, free water, as well as other delicious eats from a variety of local vendors.

If the food and beverages aren’t enough of a motivation to attend, there will also be live music from local bands playing all day long. Plus, all proceeds will benefit the Friends of Shelby Park and Bottoms

Celebration Under the Stars

This event is powered by Middle Tennessee Electric and will be held Monday, July 4th with fireworks and music at the Fountains at Gateway in Murfreesboro! Individuals are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets for picnicking on the grass for this free event.

The live music here will begin at 7:00 p.m. and the fireworks display will start at 9 p.m. This event does not allow pets, alcoholic beverages, cooking grills, and personal fireworks or sparklers on the celebration site.

Smyrna Independence Day Celebration!

If you’re in Smyrna and looking to celebrate Independence Day, head to Lee Victory Recreation Park for music, food & fun activities from 5-10 p.m. on July 1st! Parking is available at the SOAC. Here you can enjoy outdoor activities and free access to the summer exhibit, Curious George: Let’s Get Curious! Once the sun has set, get ready for the annual firework show to light up the sky.

Spring Hill Bicycle Parade

In Spring Hill take time to decorate your bikes, scooters, and wagons in patriotic colors, or simply, walk in their 15th Annual Independence Day Spring Hill Bicycle Parade.  Parade line up begins at 8:30 am and begins at 9:00am.

Fairview's 10th Annual July 3rd Celebration

Fairview City Hall is hosting their 12th annual July 3rd celebration that will feature food trucks, bounce houses, live music, and a stunning firework show! Don’t miss the free giveaways at this event from 2-9 pm.

Gallatin's 4th of July Celebration

The City of Gallatin, Gallatin Parks & Recreation, and the Gallatin Fire Department are uniting for a day to celebrate the Fourth of July! There will be a foam party provided by the Gallatin Fire Department, many food trucks, and fireworks show! This free event will last from 4 pm until dark at Triple Creek Park.

Music City’s 4th of July Let Freedom Sing

It wouldn’t be Music City without some country music to help celebrate the holiday. At Downtown Nashville, Brad Paisley will be headlining the festivities. Nashville boasts one of the largest fireworks show in the country that synchronizes with a live performance from the Nashville Symphony. This is a celebration you don’t want to miss!

No matter what type of celebration you are looking for, whether more low-key or extravagant, you have great options to choose from. We hope you have a safe and fun Fourth of July!

"Our Experience with Ole South Properties was great! Our home buying process was smooth and effortless. As first time owners, my husband and I were a little nervous. Lynn is wonderful and he made sure to keep us in the loop throughout every step. We recommend Ole South to anyone buying a home. They made our experience FUN!"
